Q: Which security issues does
LockItNow! address?
|

A: Most computers are only protected
against intruders with a simple
login security mechanism. But when the computer is running there
does not exist any good security
methods.
LockItNow! automatically locks
your computer when you leave the
room and then unlocks it when you
return. Your data is always protected
- without any user interaction!
Without a Bluetooth solution
LockItNow! is also huge security
improvement. Locking the computer is
just one click away or done
automatically after inactivity time.
It is also possible to schedule look
and unlock at certain fixed times.

A: Bluetooth is short-range radio based
communication solution. It is used in many
different areas. Today more than one million
Bluetooth products are sold each week. Most of
them are Bluetooth enabled mobile phones. The
phones can wirelessly synchronize with PCs,
push images and be used with Bluetooth enabled
headsets.

Q: I do not have any Bluetooth
solution, can I still benefit from

A: Yes! Even without a Bluetooth solution
LockItNow! is huge security improvement. Locking
the computer is just one click away or done
automatically after inactivity time. It is also

Q: How does LockItNow! use Bluetooth?
|
|
A: You must have a Bluetooth enabled phone
and a Bluetooth PC solution. There are many
different
Bluetooth solutions for PCs. You can either use a Bluetooth PC
card, a USB dongle or a laptop with built in Bluetooth. LockItNow!
uses Bluetooth on the PC to detect if the phone is
in the vicinity. If the phone is detected the PC
is locked and kept locked. If the phone is not
detected the PC is locked and is kept locked until
you return with your phone.

Q: Which Bluetooth access methods
does LockItNow! support?
|
|
A: The Bluetooth technology has two ways of
detecting other Bluetooth devices, Inquiry and
Bluetooth connect. LockItNow! support them both and
it is up to the user to choose the method.

Q: Which Bluetooth enabled phones
can be used with LockItNow!?
|
|
A: LockItNow! supports all Bluetooth enabled
phones.
|

Q: Can I use LockItNow! with my
Bluetooth enabled PDA?

A: Yes! If the Bluetooth access method inquiry is
chosen, LockItNow! will operate with any Bluetooth
enabled device.

Q: Which PC Bluetooth solution does
LockItNow! support?
|
A: Depending on the Bluetooth access method
different Bluetooth PC solutions are supported.
- Bluetooth connect - All Bluetooth PC
solution except the Microsoft mice and
keyboard are
supported.
- Bluetooth inquiry - Most Bluetooth PC
solution except the Microsoft mice and
keyboard are
supported.
The reason LockItNow! do not support the
Microsoft Bluetooth solution is because
instability in the current version of the
Microsoft Bluetooth stack. When this is solved
support will be added!

Q: Can you recommend a good Bluetooth
PC solution?
|
|
A: If you do not have a PC with embedded Bluetooth
you can Bluetooth-enable it using a PC card or a
USB dongle. We recommend the TDK Bluetooth PC card and
the D-link Bluetooth USB adapter.
